Teen arrested following Sept. swatting threat at Hutch High

HUTCHINSON POLICE DEARTMENT

On September 30th, 2025, the Hutchinson Police Department received a call from an unknown individual regarding a threat directed at Hutchinson High School. Given the seriousness of the situation, immediate action was taken to ensure the safety of students and staff. Hutchinson High School, Graber Elementary, located at 1600 North Cleveland Street, and Transitional Learning Center, 700 East 13th Ave, were placed under lockdown.

During the investigation, a suspect was identified and interviewed. Kayleb Lozoya, 17-year-old male of Hutchinson, was taken into custody and transported to Reno County Juvenile Detention Center for three counts of aggravated criminal threat, interference with law enforcement (making a false report), interference with law enforcement (concealing / destroying evidence), unlawful request for emergency services, and criminal false communication.

This was an extensive investigation that took time due to the complexity of gathering and analyzing evidence from multiple sources. This included applying for and executing search warrants on digital media.
