HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Monarchs put up five runs in the second inning and that was just the start of a 12-2 win over Haysville Friday night in eight innings at Hobart-Detter Field.
Corbin Hawkins was solid for Hutchinson, throwing five innings and giving up six hits and two earned runs en route to the win. The bullpen continued to be strong, with Carson Cornelius and Will Maynard coming on with scoreless relief.
A great crowd was on hand to enjoy the Monarchs win and the fireworks after the contest. Attendance was listed at 533 which ranks as number 18 in the top 20 nights in attendance rankings for the Monarchs.
The Monarchs, now 17-5, are scheduled for a 7 p.m. first pitch Saturday night at Hobart-Detter, weather permitting.
