Kansas mall evacuated after reported bomb threat

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a bomb threat that forced the evacuation of the West Ridge Mall, 1801 SW Wanamaker in Topeka Wednesday evening.

Mall management and police asked the public to avoid the area while police investigated.

 Following a thorough investigation that ended just before 9p.m., police determined the building and surrounding area was safe, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker. Authorities have released no additional details.
