Health Department taking well child appointments

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — It’s a great time to get a head start on school physicals or stay up to date with a Kan Be Healthy Well-Child screenings along with routine immunizations. The Reno County Health Department is taking appointments now. Well-child visits are important for tracking growth and developmental milestones, discussing health concerns, and receiving scheduled vaccinations.

Kindergarteners should receive all required vaccines before starting school. Students entering 7th and 11th grades may also need additional vaccinations. Immunizations can be administered along with the COVID-19 vaccine for ages 12 and over. School and sports physicals are also available at the Reno County Health Department, 209 W. Second Avenue, for $25 if not covered by insurance.

The Health Department is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 6 p.m., and Wednesday 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 6 p.m. They will also have extended hours on two days this week. The Health Department will stay open until 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, and be open Saturday, June 12, from 8 a.m. to noon. To schedule an appointment, or for more information, call 620-694-2900.
