
HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The Hutchinson Monarchs jumped on the Wichita Dirtbags early by sending 13 batters to plate in the first inning to score seven runs to set the tone for the night on Saturday evening, winning 9-1 at Hobart-Detter Field in Hutchinson's Carey Park.
Jarrett Flaggert set the tone going three for four in the contest as Jace Minor was dominating pitching six innings, only giving up 2 hits over the course of those six inning. After that, the bullpen did the rest with Josia Ross, Reed Scott and Camden Cornelius finishing the job.
The Monarchs, two games back of the Kansas Cannons in the second half Jayhawk standings are off until Tuesday when they host the Derby Twins at Hobart-Detter.
The Jayhawk All-Star game is set for tonight in Wichita at Riverfront Stadium. First pitch is a 6pm. These Monarchs will represent the Monarchs in that game:
