HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce says it is changing the date and location of its annual meeting in 2021.
“We have been planning events . . . for the rest of this year and trying to be really cognizant of what events we can still hold without having too many people in one space,” Chamber President Debra Teufel said. “And looking ahead at next year, of course, the Chamber's annual meeting is our biggest event. It’s usually held in February.”
But that will not be the case next year as the Chamber has pushed the event to spring.
“We were going to push it back to April, but with so many sporting events at the junior college level happening in April (the NJCAA National Tournament) we didn’t want to overlap those events too much,” Teufel said. “So we have selected May 6th as the date for the Chamber's annual meeting in 2021.”
With the new date also comes a new venue as the Chamber is moving the event from the Sports Arena to the Kansas State Fairgrounds for next year.
“We’re excited about working with the state fair on a space that you’re going to see our annual meeting become even bigger and better,” Teufel said. Such improvements will be a larger business pavilion and more space, according to Teufel.
Teufel says more information will be available in the coming months along with the announcement of who the featured speaker will be.
