Barbara Jane Rauckman |1931-2021|

Barbara Jane Rauckman, 90, passed away November 23, 2021, at Meadowlark Hills Wroten House, Manhattan, KS.  She was born July 10, 1931, in Wichita, KS, to Clifton and Lucy (Stamback) Meade.

Barbara was a 1949 graduate of Wichita North High School, and attended Kansas State University and Friends University.  She was employed by Kansas State University as an executive secretary, the United States Army Discharge Station, Tacoma, WA, KSN TV, Wichita, KS, and Pratt Community College, Pratt, KS.

Barbara was a member of the DUO Sunday School Class at Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, KS, Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary board for 16 years and served as president for 4 years, Reno County Food Bank board, and the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Board of Directors.  Her volunteer work included the Fox Theatre, the Kansas Cosmosphere, and the ‘Read With Me Program’ at the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Hutchinson, KS.

On August 26, 1951, Barbara married Jack Pinhero.  She married Marion Baker on January 5, 1969, and Harold A. ‘Rocky’ Rauckman on December 1, 1985, all of whom preceded in her death.

Barbara is survived by:  daughter, Deborah (Neal) Farmer of Manhattan, KS; grandsons, Jason (Jennifer) Taylor of Warrensburg, MO, Brent (Jessica) Farmer of Franklin, TN, and Ryan Farmer of Columbia, MO; great-granddaughters, Madison Howell, Kaitlyn Taylor, Alexandria Taylor, and Elizabeth Taylor; great-grandsons, Broderick Farmer and Jacob Farmer; great-great-granddaughter, Alaina Varney; and sister-in-law, Jane Meade of Whitefish Bay, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and brother, Floyd Meade.

Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th, Hutchinson, with The Reverend Michael Tomson-DeGreeff officiating.  Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2021, with the family present from noon to 1 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the Cosmosphere International Science Education Center & Space Museum, or the Hutchinson Public Library Children’s Department, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS.
