HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The 21-seed Northern Oklahoma College-Enid continues flying ahead at the NJCAA Men's Division 1 National Tournament as they downed the Indians from Chipola College 64-50.
The Jets, who had the lead for over 31 minutes used a 12-point scoring run late in the first half to take a ten-point lead into the halftime locker-room 33-23. Chipola had and early three-point lead at the 10:22 mark of the first half but the Jets use tight defense to turn things around.
The Jets, the Cinderella team in the tournament is the lowest seed left standing in the tournament will be tested again on Wednesday as they will face Trinity Valley at 5:30 p.m.
NOC-Enid was led in scoring by Darian Grant with 16. Gavin Barnard added 13 and Dontrey Yearby was the other Jet in double figures with 11. The Jets were 21 of 61 from the floor for 34.4%.
The Indians were led in scoring by Desmond Kent Jr. with 12. Aaron Richard has 11 and Hendrens Bartelus added 10 to add out the scorers in double figures. Chipola shot 33.9 % from the floor on 19 of 56 shooting.
Chipola ends their season at 26-8.
