BELOIT – Mark A. Jackson, loving husband, caring father, reliable friend, and dedicated educator, passed away on January 25, 2022, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Celebrating his life are his wife, Vicki, and children Melissa, Morgan, RJ, and Ryan. Also his brothers Paul and Gary Jackson, and his inlaws, Ron and Ginny Underhill, Pam and Steve Kraus, Jill and Leonce Jean-Baptiste, and Gary and Donise Underhill, and many nieces and nephews. And his best friends Lance and Geri McCune. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jean Jackson, and brothers Jimmy and Lee Jackson.

Mark was born February 6, 1963, in Tampa, Florida, and raised on the beaches of Sarasota, Florida. He graduated from Sarasota High School and attended Kansas State University on a football scholarship. It was at K-State that Mark met Vicki. They were married in June 1982 and would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year.

Mark was an officer at the Beloit Police Department and Mitchell County Sheriff's Office in Kansas. He was a UN police officer in Kosovo and an advisor in Afghanistan. He worked PSD in Iraq and was an instructor on an international police training program (IPPOS) for many years. Most recently, Mark worked for USD 273 as an educator. He was well respected among his peers, an exceptional leader and a dedicated worker.

Mark enjoyed woodworking and designing projects in his shop. No job was too big or too complicated for him. He thought it through beginning to end before he ever started.

Above everything else, Mark’s greatest accomplishment was his family. A celebration of Mark’s life will be held

Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Beloit. It will also be live streamed for those unable to attend on Team 1 Sports website.
