Laura M. Stout, 87, died on October 13, 2020 at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler, KS. She was born September 2, 1933, in Tribune, KS, the daughter of Fred O. and Addie (Waldon) Daines.
On October 8, 1949, Laura married Gerald A. Stout in Hutchinson, KS. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2013. Laura worked for Southern Extrusion as a wrapper for 10 years, she worked at Farmland Industries for 5 years and worked as a sales clerk for Walmart retiring after 15 years. Laura’s family and grandchildren was the most important thing to her. She enjoyed cooking and had a love for the Lord. She was a Sunday school teacher and worked in the church’s nursery. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; brothers, Fred, Leon, John, Jackie and Robert Daines; sisters, Mary England, Jean Renken, Shirley Wilson, Bonnie Davis, Nancy Satterwhite, Linda Lancaster, Isabelle Cheatum and Donna Daines; and granddaughter Andrea Struthers.
Laura is survived by her children, David (Betty) Stout of Republic, MO., Pamala (William) Hulse of South Hutchinson, KS., Brenda (Wes) Chastain of South Hutchinson, KS., Diana (Ron) Krieg of Hutchinson and David Struthers of Lynchfield Park, AZ.; grandchildren, Carrie Stout, Angie Hernbloom, Jodi (Jay) Mitzner, Jason (Michelle) Chastain, Staci (Matt) Birney, Amy (Keith) Frederick, Sherri (Bob) Jones, Tina Guern, Jack Elam and Jason (Shannon) Elam, and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2020 at Westside Baptist Church, 400 W. 12th , Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. A private family visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Memorials may be given to Westside Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave. Hutchinson, KS. 67502.
