HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Board of Reno County Commissioners has denied unanimously the proposal for an aggregate stone yard by Mid-States Materials.
There were multiple concerns expressed by close in residents including the safety of traffic on Nickerson Boulevard. The concerns escalated to the point of filing protest petitions that would have required a unanimous vote of the three members of the commission to have allowed the conditional use permit to go forward.
A resolution finalizing the decision will be on the agenda for the commission at its next meeting.
