PRATT – The Hutchinson Community College volleyball team earned its first KJCCC victory of the season with a road sweep of the Pratt Beavers on Monday night at the Beaverdome.

Sophomore Atlyn Proctor had a match-high 16 kills and ignited a key first-set surge as the Blue Dragons defeated the Beavers 25-18, 25-22, 25-20, extending their winning streak over Pratt to 31-consecutive matches.

The Blue Dragons (5-4, 1-1 KJCCC) will play host to No. 7-ranked Colby at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

Proctor led the Blue Dragons with 16 kills on 30 swings for a .367 hitting percentage. She also had a key solo block in a 9-2 surge to close the opening set.

Sophomore Alondra Villanueva had 11 kills on 23 attacks for a .217 attack percentage. Jaylynn McNeill and Kierny Follmer had six kills each.

The Blue Dragons hit .258 for the match, out-hitting Pratt 47-25. Pratt out-blocked Hutchinson 8-2. The Dragons had nine service aces to Pratt's six.

Freshman setter Alexandra Garcia had 38 assists four digs and had three kills on four attacks.

Freshman libero Clara Oliveira had 16 digs. Villanueva had eight digs and Lauren Vazquez had five digs.

Oliveira had four aces, while Vazquez and Sorelys Dominguez had two aces each.

1st Set: The Blue Dragons took their first lead of the match on a Mattie Galliher tip to the deep corner for a 4-3 lead. Galliher then pounded down a kill on an over-pass for a 7-4 lead. The Dragons then trailed 11-8 after a 5-0 Beaver run. They also trailed 13-11 and 17-16. Proctor then took over the set, scoring points on four-straight rallies with a kill, solo block, kill and kill for a 19-17 Dragon lead. The Blue Dragons closed the set on a 9-2 run, getting five kills and a solo block from Proctor. Kills from Proctor, McNeill and Follmer closed out the first set for a 25-18 win.

2nd Set: A Vazquez service ace capped a 4-0 run to give the Dragons a 7-5 lead in a second set where there were eight ties and two lead changes. A Proctor kill, Oliveira ace and Pratt attack error gave the Dragons a 15-12 lead. Pratt scored three in a row to knot the set at 15-all. Tied at 17, Villanueva and Galliher had back-to-back kills for a 21-17 lead. Pratt pulled within 23-22. Garcia had back-to-back setter dumps for kills and the Dragons won the set 25-22.

3rd Set: The Blue Dragons forced sideouts on 7 of their first 9 opportunities in the third set. Leading 12-9, a Vazquez service run of seven unanswered points gave the Dragons a 19-9 lead after a Vazquez ace on a Pratt rotation violation. Then then scored six unanswered points to cut the Dragon lead to 19-15, forcing the Dragons to take a timeout. The lead dwindled to 22-20, but the Dragons close out the match on a Proctor kill, Oliveira service ace and Follmer kill.
