Leonard F. Rempe, 89, passed away October 18, 2021, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson, where he resided since December 2018. He was born November 27, 1931, in Goff, to William and Agnes (Hermesch) Rempe.
Leonard served in the United States Marine Corps, during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1954. Following his military service, Leonard moved to Hutchinson. He retired from Cessna/Eaton as a machinist, after 33 years of service. Leonard was a member of Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson. He enjoyed hunting and gardening during his retirement, sharing the harvests with church members and friends.
On June 13, 1956, he married Norita Schmitz, in St. Benedict.
Leonard is survived by: his wife of 65 years, Norita of South Hutchinson; sons, Gerald Rempe (Stephanie) of Hutchinson, Kenneth Rempe (Joy) of Idaho Falls, ID, and Michael Rempe (Micki) of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughters, Jessica and Anna; brother, John Rempe; sisters, Edith Deters, Dorothy White, and Mary Jane Engelken; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Melita; and a brother, Frank.
Parish Rosary will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m., both at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson, with Father Aaron Spexarth officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with military honors conducted by the United States Marine Corps. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
