
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — SaltCity Racing delivered high-speed thrills Friday night at the Kansas State Fairgrounds, highlighted by a full slate of IMCA feature races and a record turnout for the annual Kids Night.
Jacye Reimer of Hutchinson claimed the win in the IMCA Stock Car A Feature, holding off fellow Hutchinson driver David Brown and Wichita’s Colten Kelly to take the checkered flag.
Randy Wilson of Wichita led the IMCA Modified feature, finishing ahead of Hutchinson’s Jake Nightingale and Casey Jo Gemmill of Goddard.
In the IMCA Hobby Stock division, Morgan Olmstead of Overton, Nebraska, took the top spot. Cody Williams of Minneapolis, Kansas, finished second, with Salina’s Garrit Caswell in third.
Salina’s Warren Huffman won the IMCA Northern Sport Mod A Feature, finishing ahead of Brian May of Spearville and Dodge City’s Joey Maupin.
Promoter Phil Nightengale said the event’s Kids Night drew a record 211 children, the highest attendance in the event’s history.
SaltCity Racing returns to the track Friday, May 31, with a special event featuring the ASCS National Sprint Car Tour and Super Stocks. Pits open at 3 p.m., gates at 5 p.m., hot laps begin at 6:30 p.m., and racing starts at 7 p.m.
