HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson firefighters worked an attic fire in a house on Justice Street east of the Hutchinson Correctional Facility Wednesday morning.

Fire crews have been dealing with a series of electrical fires this month since the weather turned extremely cold.

The fire call came in at 9:19 a.m. Crews entered the home and found a small fire in the wall and attic near the electrical panel.

Crews made access to the fire and quickly put out the fire with moderate damage to the home. Evergy arrived on scene and was able to disconnect the power.

No one was home at the time of the fire. A neighbor called 911 after seeing smoke coming from the roof. No firefighter injuries were reported.
