
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Eagle Media Center will be closed Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day and to take part in a full day of community celebrations.
Eagle Media will help organize and host the annual Patriots Day Parade, which begins at 10 a.m. Friday in downtown Hutchinson. The parade will travel north on Main Street from Avenue B to 12th Avenue.
Additional family-friendly festivities will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Project Park at DCI Park, hosted by Hutch Rec. Activities include inflatables, yard games, a community art project, and the Bubbles & Brew food truck. Kids can also enjoy free hot dogs from noon to 1 p.m.
The celebration continues in the evening at the Kansas State Fairgrounds with a fireworks show at the Nex-Tech Grandstand. The Hutchinson Municipal Band will perform a patriotic concert beginning at 8:30 p.m., followed by the fireworks display around 9:30 p.m. The fireworks are presented by the City of Hutchinson, Showalter Fireworks, Rainbow Fireworks Inc. and the Kansas State Fair.
