Stella Josephine Marquez, 70, formerly of Hutchinson, died October 14, 2020, at her home. She was born January 16, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Juan Lopez and Louisa (Gomez) Marquez.

Stella graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Wichita State University. She worked for over 20 years as a cosmetologist at various salons in the area. Stella enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and volunteering for community service organizations, such as being an interpreter for First Call for Help. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, South Hutchinson.

She is survived by her children, Lorenzo (Petrina) Davis, Sr. of Wichita, Marcos (Vaniesa) Davis of Houston, TX, Jose (Traci) Favela of Fort Worth, TX, and Tony (Stacy) Favela of Hutchinson; ten grandchildren; brother, Pete (Ramona) Marquez of Hutchinson; and Juan Antonio Favela of Hutchinson, the father of Lorenzo, Marcos, Jose, and Tony.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Adolph Chavez, Kathryn Garcia, Tony Marquez, and Bobby Marquez.

Parish Rosary will be 7 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2020, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, with Father Charles Seiwert officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at the church, with Father Todd Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
