Hutchinson Community College softball pitcher&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/sball/2025-26/bios/schmidt_jessica_plsu">Jessica Schmidt</a>&nbsp;and outfielder&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/sball/2025-26/bios/kruger_kaibryn_43ko">Kaibryn Kruger</a>&nbsp;were named to the Region 6 Tournament All-Tournament team.
Schmidt and Kruger were key figures in the 2026 Blue Dragons winning the Jayhawk Conference regular-season championship. The Blue Dragons were 2-2 in the Region 6 Tournament, falling in the loser's bracket final to end their season 42-14.
In the tournament, Schmidt, a sophomore left-handed pitcher from Norfolk, Nebraska, made three appearances all in relief. She earned one save in a 5-3 win over Pratt which tied Riley Wertz for the Hutchinson single-season record for saves.
Schmidt worked 10 2-3 innings, striking out 15 and walking nine, while allowing an opponent batting average of .154. She had an earned-run average of 0.66 in the tournament.
Kruger, a sophomore center fielder from Silver Lake, hit .364 (4 for 11) with two doubles, a home run with four RBIs and six runs scored. Kruger was 4 for 4 in stolen bases.
