Blue Dragon sophomore running back Waymond Jordan Jr. has been named a finalist for the JUCO Weekly National Player of the Year.

Jordan, a sophomore from Pensacola, Florida leads the NJCAA in rushing with 1,331 yards and is tied for the nation's lead in rushing touchdowns with 18. Jordan ran for 100 yards in 8 of 10 games, including a career-high 213 yards against Highland on November 9 at Gowans Stadium.

Jordan is the second finalist for National Player of the Year honors in Blue Dragon history. Quarterback Dylan Laible was a finalist during the 2022 Hutchinson national runner-up season.

Along with Jordan, Tyler linebacker William Cornelson, Northwest Mississippi running back D'Mariun Perteet, Iowa Western quarterback Hunter Dekkers and Iowa Western receiver Fresh Walters were named finalists for the 2024 award.

The winner will be announced at the NJCAA Championship Banquet on December 17 in Canyon, Texas.
