HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The agreement to take over maintenance of what used to be K-14 and K-96 from the intersection of Dean Road to the Eastern City Limits of Nickerson and from the Western City Limits of Nickerson to the Rice/Reno County Line is on the agenda for the Board of County Commissioners at their meeting on Monday.

According to agenda documents, on June 16, 2023, Reno County signed agreement No. 217-20 for the turnback of miles of the old K14/96 highway after realignment of a section of the highway and completion of repair work to the turnback miles. That work is completed and the miles will be the county's responsibility as of December 25, 2024.

The Board of County Commissioners meets Monday at 9 a.m. in the Veterans Room of the Reno County Courthouse.
