HUTCHINSON, Kan. — For the second time this season, Hutchinson Community College freshman goalkeeper Olivia Felix-Cardona was named the Jayhawk Conference Division I Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.
The freshman from Wichita went 1-0-1 last week to help the Blue Dragons get back above the .500 mark for the season with a scoreless draw against No. 16 Barton and a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Kansas City last week.
Against Barton, Felix-Cardona was exceptional with nine saves against the Cougars. She then had five saves a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Kansas City on Saturday.
Now 5-4-1, Felix Cardona has a 1.89 goals-against average and a .789 save percentage.
Felix-Cardona also won Jayhawk Conference weekly honors after the opening week of the season with a brilliant 1-0 shutout at Western Wyoming.
