WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita State Athletics announces an all-new way for fans to connect with their favorite coaches and programs. Beginning this season, our popular coaches shows are moving from radio broadcasts to a fully on-demand podcast format — giving Shocker fans the flexibility to listen anytime, anywhere.
This new format allows fans to stay connected with the volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball programs in a way that fits their busy schedules. Episodes will be packed with insider updates, in-depth conversations with coaches, and behind-the-scenes stories that fans love — now available on their favorite podcast platforms.
"We're thrilled to offer this more accessible, flexible and engaging format," said Director of Athletics Kevin Saal. "Moving to a podcast allows us to connect with more fans than ever before, provide fresh content all season long, and create a convenient experience."
Fans will also continue to have opportunities to engage with their favorite coaches by submitting questions for future episodes. Details on how to participate will be shared on social media throughout the season, ensuring that the coaches show remains an interactive experience for Shocker Nation.
Hosted by the Voice of the Shockers Mike Kennedy, who is entering his 48th year of calling Shocker Athletics events, will bring his insight and analysis to each half-hour show. Produced locally by Audacy Wichita, episodes will be released weekly throughout each sport season and will be available through Audacy Podcasts, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Pandora, and GoShockers.com. Fans can subscribe to never miss an episode and share their favorite moments with friends and family.
This transition reflects Wichita State's commitment to meeting fans where they are and continuing to innovate the way we tell the story of our teams, athletes, and community.
