Lawrence ‘Larry’ Earl Legge, passed away July 9, 2021, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita. He was born September 21, 1955, in Chanute, to Lawrence William and Ruth Ann (Johnson) Legge.
Larry served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division from 1972-1975. He worked as a welder at Agco Corporation, Hesston, retiring with many years of service. Larry was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed riding his Harley, watching NASCAR and football, and spending time with his family and friends. He was fond of his guns and a member of the National Rifle Association.
Larry is survived by: daughter, Jessica (Dominic Vargas) Legge of Wichita; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Kellerman of Florida; close friends, Wes and Lea Ann Mullins of Hutchinson; and Jessica’s mother, Angel Leamon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Chaplain Highside Hall officiating. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday following the funeral service at Anchor Inn Restaurant, 128 S. Main, Hutchinson. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Memorial Cemetery, 1400 S. Katy, Chanute. Military honors will be conducted by the Kansas Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, and from 1 p.m. to service time Friday, July 23, 2021, with the family present at Elliott Mortuary.
