HARVEY COUNTY — A motorcycle rider was critically injured in a crash Friday afternoon northwest of Hesston, according to the Harvey County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency responders were dispatched to an injury accident in the 9600 block of North Hesston Road.

The Sheriff’s Office said the rider lost control of the motorcycle and was subsequently struck by another vehicle. The rider was transported by helicopter to a hospital in critical condition.

North Hesston Road was closed in the area while emergency crews worked at the scene. Drivers were asked to avoid the area.

Additional details, including the identity of the rider and circumstances surrounding the crash, were not immediately released.
