Today's "Throwback Thursday Collection" takes us to the northeast corner of East 11th and Sesher Street.
Hutchinson's first Spring Home Show in 1953 also coincided with the newly-opened Hutchinson Sports Arena and the newly-opened KTVH-TV station.
Emphasis in the show was on television, new to Hutchinson. The Home Show opened for a five-day run from April 12 to April 16, 1953. The first photo shows a panned shot of the entire exposition floor.

All 108 booths were sold out to 63 Hutchinson merchants.
Many merchants showed their now-archaic looking new television displays. A four-hour program was arranged by KTVH in cooperation with radio station KWBW to show fashion shows, crowd shows, film features and news broadcasts. The second photo shows the Jackson Amana Food Plan booth.

The third photo shows the Harmon Furniture booth right next door.

The fourth photo shows the Jackson Appliance Center booth.

The fifth photo shows the Jackson Frozen Food Center booth.

The sixth photo shows the interior of the recently-remodeled Sports Arena, shown today from the same vantage point as the first photo.
