HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Police were called to the area of 3rd and Logan at 11:20 Tuesday morning for a person barricaded inside a home.

3rd Avenue was closed one block on each side of the scene. This appeared initially to be a domestic disturbance.

SWAT officers, the Sheriff's Office Bearkat and K-9 units were used to take one man into custody shortly after 3:30 p.m.

An ambulance has been called and officers are checking to see if any additional people are inside. Hutchinson Police Chief Jeff Hooper said that a woman alerted authorities to a trouble with a subject call.
Police were able to get her out of the home safely but the male subject barricaded himself inside the bathroom. He eventually came out and was subdued by one of the K-9 units before being taken to the hospital for treatment and then into custody. No names has been released at this time but Hooper did say the man is wanted by the US Marshalls Service.
There were no injuries other than to the subject which suffered several bites from the K-9 officer.
Hutch Post will provide more information as it becomes available.
