Pratt - Roger D. Blasi, age 66, died on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Pratt Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born on December 30, 1954 in Pratt to Floyd and Marcella (Shaffer) Blasi. He attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Pratt High School in 1973. Following graduation, he attended a technical school in Omaha, Nebraska where he received training in radiator and air conditioning repair. Roger owned and operated Blasi Radiator and Air Conditioning Repair then became a contract pumper in the oil and gas field. He married his high school sweetheart, Cathy (Frazer) Blasi on August 16, 1974. He and Cathy worked side by side as co-owners of Blasi Production Care. Roger was also a very skilled welder who could fabricate about anything he set his mind to.
Roger was the happiest when elk hunting in Colorado on the back of his mule and horse. He also loved helping friends and area ranchers gather cattle on horseback and attend old-fashioned branding events. He and Cathy enjoyed traveling to Cripple Creek, Colorado several times a year to spend hours and hours playing blackjack together and simply riding around the mountainsides.
In the last few years, Roger taught himself the art of leathercrafting. He got real pleasure from hand making and hand tooling everything from briefcases, belts, Ipad cases, to intricately-designed purses for close friends.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy of 47 years; brother, David (Paula) Blasi of Pratt; sister, Janet (Don) Offutt of Beloit; and several nieces and nephews.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bruce Blasi.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7, at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt with John Hamm presiding. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
