Frisco, TX- The Wind Surge fell short in a pitcher’s duel to the Frisco RoughRiders 2-1 in ten innings on Thursday night as Bryan Sammons delivered a bases loaded walk to end the game and give Frisco the series win.

Aaron Zavala drew a bases loaded walk to score Jax Biggers and give the RoughRiders the game deciding 2-1 lead in the tenth inning.

Daniel Gossett made his first start on the mound since his complete game no-hitter last week and pitched five innings, allowing one run, three hits, and striking out two before being relieved by Osiris German in the sixth inning.

Will Holland got the Surge on the board in the third inning as he hit a triple and later scored on a ground ball fielder’s choice to give Wichita an early 1-0 lead.

Cody Bradford got the start on the mound for Frisco and pitched six innings where he allowed one run on two hits and struck out a season-high eight hitters before being relieved in the seventh inning.

The RoughRiders scored in the fifth inning as David Garcia hit a sacrifice fly ball to center field that scored a runner to tie the game 1-1.

The first place Wind Surge lead on Springfield is five and a half games with 21 games to play.
