HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Fire Department, Hutchinson Police Department and Kansas Highway Patrol responded Wednesday evening to a reported aircraft emergency near Hutchinson Regional Airport after a plane was forced to make an emergency landing in a wheat field.
According to information released by the fire department, crews were initially dispatched to 1100 North Airport Road following reports of an aircraft emergency. While firefighters were enroute, personnel made contact with the Hutchinson Regional Airport control tower, which advised the aircraft had landed near Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
First-arriving crews located the aircraft in a wheat field near the intersection of 20th Avenue and Fountainwood Street.

Authorities said the aircraft remained intact following the landing, and all occupants had safely exited the plane before emergency responders arrived on scene.
Reno County EMS evaluated the occupants at the scene, and all were later released without being transported to a hospital.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the pilot reported the aircraft ran out of fuel while approaching Hutchinson Regional Airport, prompting the emergency landing.
The incident remains under investigation.
