SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The South Hutchinson City Council will look at the engineering proposal to start the process of getting the Scott Boulevard bridge replaced as part of its meeting Tuesday.
Before the council is a proposal from Schwab Eaton to provide surveying and design services, with the goal for that portion to be finished over the Fall of 2021 such that the project is ready to advertise for bids in December of 2021 so that prospective bidders can plan for construction as a Spring of 2022 project when asphalt plants are back open.
The proposal is in the amount of $12,200 with the potential for additional costs, if grants that are being looked for to lower the cost of the project require additional engineering services.
Also, the city of South Hutchinson is planning for their scheduled citywide dump day on Saturday, September 25th.
Property owners with junk and debris in their yards are receiving notices to abate their nuisances with automatic extensions beyond the 25th so that they have ample time to clean up their properties.
The Revenue Neutral Rate hearing and regular public hearing for the 2022 budget will also be held Tuesday.
South Hutchinson plans to have budget authority of $6,803,327 on taxes levied of $1,086,411 and a mill levy of 43.500. This is up from 43.137 last year.
The South Hutchinson City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the city offices at 2 S. Main.
