Election Day has arrived in Reno County and across Kansas, with voters heading to the polls to cast ballots in local and statewide races.
Polling places are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday. Election officials remind voters that anyone who is in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote, even if it takes additional time to process everyone waiting.
Kansas law requires voters to present a valid photo identification before receiving a ballot. Acceptable forms of ID include a Kansas driver's license, state-issued identification card, U.S. passport, military ID and several other government-issued photo IDs.
After polls close at 7 p.m., election workers will begin tabulating ballots. Unofficial results will be released throughout the evening as vote counts are completed.
Voters are encouraged to allow extra travel time to their polling locations, bring the required photo identification and exercise patience as election workers assist voters throughout the day.
