Donna Sue “Susan” McConnell, 79, of Hutchinson, died November 27, 2021, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born April 8, 1942, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to George and Leona (Carvel) Ruble.
Susan was a graduate of Hutchinson High School. She worked as a secretary for Sky Craft, tax prep for Tennant, and bookkeeper for Farm Management. Susan loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid crossword player and reader. Susan also enjoyed cooking and gardening. She attended Crestview Bible Church, Hutchinson.
On March 10, 1961, Susan married Dale Eldon McConnell, in Hutchinson. She loved being with Dale, they were together from the time they were 14 years old. They shared 60 years of marriage.
Susan is survived by: husband, Dale McConnell; daughters, Kelly Everhart (Tracy) and Shannon Redenbaugh; son, Johnathan McConnell, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Sarah Stucky, Shelby Stucky, Kren Littrell (Curtis), Katie Young (Michael); and great-grandchildren, Hayden, Liam, and Brinley Littrell, Jacob and Korbin Young.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Michael Dale McConnell; granddaughter, Casey Marie McConnell; sister, Warna Lee Selby; and son-in-law, Arlan Redenbaugh.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
