Booster shot clinic Thursday at Salvation Army

HUTCHINSON, Kan. —The Reno County Health Department will be doing a COVID-19 booster clinic from 10:30 to 1:30 at The Salvation Army on Thursday during the Friendship Meals program. It is free and for walk-in only. There would be an administration fee only if a person has insurance.

Otherwise, the health department is administering vaccines during their normal operating hours. Walk-ins are accepted for those age 12 and over wanting primary doses, or those over 18 wanting boosters. Appointments are required for children aged 5-11. Call 620-694-2900 and select option 6 for scheduling.

This announcement comes as active COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Reno County and are currently at 381. According to the Reno County Health Department, there is a high risk of community transmission. As of now50.06% of Reno County residents have received at least one dose of vaccine.

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, along with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), announced Wednesday that fully vaccinated Kansans over the age of 18 are now eligible for COVID-19 booster doses if it has been at least six months since the completion of a primary series of Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, or two months after a Johnson & Johnson vaccine. You may choose to receive a different booster vaccine from your original primary dose as well.
