KANSAS CITY — Kansas City Royals pitcher Amir Garrett is appealing a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for throwing a drink on a spectator in the stands during the team's Tuesday, August 2nd road game against the Chicago White Sox in Chicago.
The suspension of Garrett had been scheduled to begin prior to Monday's series opener against the Twins at Target Field, but it now will not start until the appeal is dealt with.
Garrett has apologized to the fan and sent the fan and his son jerseys as a peace offering.
