John Alan Miller, 71, died February 9, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1950, in Salina, to Harris and Margaret (LeRoy) Miller.
John graduated from Salina Central High School in 1968, and attended Hutchinson Community College. On June 10, 1973, he married Kay Guy, in Hutchinson. They shared almost 49 years together.
John was employed by Superior Boiler Works after college and sold real estate for Tucker Agency and Caldwell-Banker Real Estate. For 35 years, he was self-employed as an insurance adjuster. John loved fishing, hunting, auto body projects, and never missed his children or grandchildren’s activities or events. He loved coaching youth baseball and softball. Most of all, John loved his family.
John is survived by: his wife, Kay of Hutchinson; daughters, Tori (Luke) Koester of Derby and Kelly (Josh) Miller-Davies of Hutchinson; son, Jeff (Sarah) Miller of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Sebastian, Louna and Cole; sisters, Elaine (Ralph) Berry of Sunriver, OR; Louise Creamer of Wells, KS; brother, Lynn Miller of Hutchinson; brothers-in-law, Erwin (Sue) Guy and Kenny (Kristy) Guy of Hutchinson; 11 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harris and Margaret Miller.
Celebration of Life service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 14, 2022, at Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Jeff Goetzinger and The Reverend Amy Foster officiating. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina. Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
