HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council will meet Tuesday evening at City Hall, with several key items on the agenda, including a public hearing on unsafe structures, a parks and recreation presentation, and discussion on city council travel policy.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.

Council members will hold a public hearing to consider the condemnation of multiple properties deemed unsafe and dangerous. The structures under review are located at:

  1. 913 E. 5th Avenue
  2. 404 W. 5th Avenue
  3. 201 N. Waldron Street
  4. 113 W. Avenue B
  5. 827 E. 1st Avenue

Following the hearing, the council is expected to consider a resolution formally condemning the properties.

The agenda also includes a discussion on the council’s travel policy. Details of potential changes or updates have not yet been outlined publicly.

Jason Combs, director of parks and facilities, will deliver an educational presentation on how parks and recreation services are structured across Kansas.

City officials noted the presentation is informational only and will not include any discussion about cutting programs or reflect a change in the city’s current position. The goal is to provide context on how Hutchinson’s system compares to other communities.
