Willard “Bill” Wilbur, 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. He was born in Wichita, Kansas to Myrnon and Sylvia (Houck) Wilbur. He was raised in Wichita, Kansas where he attended Peterson Elementary, Allison Junior High and North High School. He married the love of his life, Betty (Layman) Wilbur. Bill and Betty raised their family in rural Valley Center on the family farm. They had a great involvement and impact on the Valley Center community, sports, education, their church and farming. He and his brother farmed west of Valley Center. These later years he has been a part of the Newton community.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Wilbur, parents Myrnon & Sylvia Wilbur, brother Bob Wilbur and sister Myrna Foltz.

Bill is survived by his children: Tony (Olivia) Wilbur of Valley Center, Ted (Danell) Wilbur of Wichita, Tammy (Victor III) Riffel of Benton, and Tarenda (Jon) Casimir of Newton; grandchildren: Wade Wilbur, Leah Wilbur Alpers, Jessica Riffel Beech, Victor Riffel IV, Nicole Wilbur Roberts, Auna Wilbur Cantril, Nolan Casimir, James Casimir and Daniel Casimir; great grandchildren: Braxton Alpers, Easton Alpers, Brecken Alpers, Kemper Beech, Forrest Roberts, Jayne Roberts, Micah Cantril, Jeremiah Casimir and Timothy Casimir; many other family and friends.

Service will be held Tuesday, October 19th, 2021, Visitation 1:00 and Service 2:00 p.m. both held at First United Methodist Church, 560 N. Park, Valley Center, Kansas. The service will be livestreamed at https://youtu.be/vqo8YRyvOG4 Graveside will follow the service at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bentley, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Valley Center High School Athletic Dept, 9600 N. Meridian, Valley Center, Ks 67147. Please designate in the memo “Bill Wilbur Memorial”.
