Benedict “Benny” Theodore Ricke, 94, of Medicine Lodge, died Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Attica Long Term Care, Attica.
He was born on March 30, 1928 in Sharon, the son of Benedict Joseph Ricke and Mary Ann (Rausch) Ricke. On August 29, 1951, he married Elizabeth “Betty” D. (Becker) Ricke in St. Leo. She preceded him in death on December 22, 2018.
Benny was a dairy and wheat farmer. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medicine Lodge, the Knights of Columbus and past member of AMPI Association.
Surviving are four sons, Darrel (Judy) Ricke of Hutchinson; Roger (Alice) Ricke of Wichita; Duane (Pam) Ricke of Attica; and John (Tammy) Ricke of Mulvane; four daughters, Lana Kay (Tim) Baker of Amarillo, TX; Pat (Dave) Merz of Valley Center; Cheryl (Don) Grodecki of Lake Quivera; and Mary Beth (Gary) Chandler of Holcomb,; 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way and one great-great grandchild on the way; one sister, Marceline Simon of Stroud, OK.
Benny was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Theodore Ricke, four brothers, Walter, Victor, Lawrence, and Arnold, two sisters, Bernadine and Evaline, and one grandson Ricke Joe Baker.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with family present from 3-5 p.m. at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104.
Rosary/vigil services will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medicine Lodge.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medicine Lodge, with Father Emmanuel Kosikumah presiding. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, Sharon.
