Frisco, TX- Zak Kent’s seven dominant innings on the mound led Frisco to a 2-1 win over the Wind Surge on Friday night as the Surge stranded the tying run on first base in the ninth inning to drop their second straight game.

The RoughRiders broke the tie in the bottom of the third inning as Josh Stowers scored on a passed ball and Jonathan Ornelas followed with an RBI double to give Frisco a 2-0 lead.

Kent got the nod on the hill for Frisco and pitched four and two thirds innings before allowing a hit in the game. Kent went on to pitch seven innings and tallied seven strikeouts with just three hits allowed.

Kody Funderburk fell to (8-5) on the season as he had an early exit, pitching four innings and allowing two runs on two hits and added six strikeouts before being relieved by Denny Bentley in the fifth inning.

The Surge cut the deficit in half in the seventh inning behind a solo home run from Jair Camargo to make it a 2-1 ballgame. Camargo led the way at the plate for Wichita and finished one for four with an RBI.
