
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Since the Reno County Planning Commission is still in the process of writing solar regulations after calls for edits by the Board of County Commissioners, it is on the Board's agenda for Wednesday to extend the solar moratorium into 2025.
According to agenda documents, an extension of the moratorium was passed on June 26th, 2024, for it to be in effect until December 1st, 2024, an additional extension of the mortarium has been requested so that the planning commission can continue their work. The moratorium for consideration would last until March 1st, 2025, but could be removed earlier if the planning commission is able to complete their process before that time.
The Board of County Commissioners meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Veterans Room of the Reno County Courthouse.
