Gerald E. “Gerry” Graber |1938-2021|

Gerald E. “Gerry” Graber, 83, of Hutchinson, died November 28, 2021, at Azria Health Nursing Home, Wichita. He was born September 18, 1938, in Kingman, to Edwin and Edna (Graber) Graber.

Gerry graduated from Pretty Prairie High School, Bethel College, and Emporia State University with a Master’s of Education. He taught for many years at Wiley Elementary and Liberty Junior High School. Gerry helped with farming, harvesting, and driving trucks. He loved to go hunting and loved his dogs.

On August 19, 1960, Gerry married Reta K. Harrison, at Midland Community Church, Nickerson. They shared 53 years together before she passed away on February 10, 2014.

He is survived by: son, Terry Graber (Susana), Richfield, Ohio; daughter, Lavonne Harris (Zac), Valley Center; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brother, Myron Graber (Marchella), Cheney.

Gerry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Reta Graber.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Eric Miller officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary.
