HUTCHINSON, Kan. — USD 309 Superintendent Curtis Nightingale sent a message to Hutch Post noting that Ryan Maehs who was going to be appointed to the position left open by the resignation of Valerie Garcia lives on the wrong side of the street to represent the Reno Valley district, which was the vacancy to be filled.
Three other people also applied, Jeff Stroberg, Jane Gamber and Karin Gillett. The board will have to address the opening again at its next meeting. The person appointed will serve until January of 2024.
