Southwest winds sustained from 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 70 mph are expected over portions of central, south central and southeast Kansas.

Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected and travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Blowing dust will be possible and would reduce visibilities making travel under these conditions hazardous. Visibilities may drop to under one mile at times.
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
