
SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating the theft from area businesses and have two suspects in custody.
On April 5, 2021, deputies were dispatched to a business in the 8100 block of SW Topeka Boulevard for a possible theft, according to Deputy Abigail Christian. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a large hole cut into the fence and a damaged gate at the entrance of the property.
During the investigation, it was discovered that multiple items were stolen, including industrial sized batteries, and multiple items were damaged with a total value over $28,000.

On Wednesday deputies gathered valuable information and responded to a residence in the 200 block of SE Pinecrest Drive and located the remaining stolen batteries as well as two suspects.
Jarrod M. Ryan (48) and Amy L. Kibbee (28), both of Topeka, were arrested and booked into the
Shawnee County Department of Corrections on charges of aggravated criminal damage to
property, theft, conspiracy and criminal trespass. Ryan was also charged with several drug related
charges.
This incident is still under investigation.
