RENO COUNTY, Kan. — Two people were injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on K-14 approximately three miles south of South Hutchinson, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m. at the junction of K-14 and K-96 highway.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by 16-year-old Jadelynn Hopkins of Manchester, Kentucky, was traveling northbound on K-14 when it failed to yield at a stop sign while crossing the highway. The Tahoe was struck by an eastbound 2011 Honda Accord driven by 18-year-old Kensley Keast of Hutchinson.
After the collision, the Tahoe overturned in the median.
Hopkins and Keast were both transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with suspected minor injuries.
Four passengers in the Tahoe were not injured. They were identified as 55-year-old Mary Baldwin of Manchester, Kentucky; 18-year-old Kira Gregory of Manchester, Kentucky; 18-year-old Rodney Tatum of Carrie, Kentucky; and 17-year-old John Riley of Corbin, Kentucky.
The highway patrol reported that all occupants involved in the crash were wearing seat belts.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
