Busy agenda for USD 313 school board Monday

BUHLER, Kan. — The Buhler USD 313 Board of Education will meet Monday night and as part of their regular agenda, they will recognize the CTE scholars that were honored by the Kansas Department of Education this spring.

Also on the agenda are several personnel moves and two executive sessions to discuss personnel, along with a negotiations session looking ahead to next school year with the district's teachers.

In addition, the board will receive updates on several utility issues, from solar panels to an update on how the cold snap over the winter changed the gas bills for districts and an update on legal action the Kansas Joint Utilities Management Program is taking against Symmetry Energy Solutions to try to recover some of the cost spike incurred by the group.

The board will also hear from its professional development council and get information on the communities that care survet along with reports from the district's business manager and USD 313 Superintendent Cindy Couchman.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday at the Burkholder Administrative Center in Buhler.
