Sheriff: Kan. boy accused of social media threat against school

JACKSON COUNTY —Law enforcement and USD 336 authorities are investigating threats on social media towards students at the Holton High School and have made an arrest.

The threats that were generated over the weekend and Monday evening, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.  

Just before midnight Monday, police officers and deputies served a search warrant on a residence in the City of Holton. During the search warrant, the suspect, a 15-year-old boy was placed into custody. A number of electronic devices were seized from the residence.

It is believed that the suspect was the sole person involved in making the threats.  There was a strong law enforcement presence at the school on Monday and also Tuesday, according to Morse.
