HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Denise Pina and John Eberly, Social and Human Service Assistants for the Reno County Department of Aging say it's time to look over your Medicare Part D drug plan, as recipients should do every year.
"If you're on a plan in 2021 and you want to look and see if there's a more affordable plan, or for whatever reason, for 2022, you have the opportunity from October 15 through December 7."
The local folks here in Hutchinson are doing phone appointments between now and the end of November.
"We are not taking people in the office," Pina said. "We are only taking phone calls for them to set the appointment, with us calling out to them on the appointment date."
Those interested in assistance can call 620-694-2911 for a local appointment, but slots are filling up fast.
"We allot an hour per appointment," Pina said. "Sometimes it could take as little as 15 minutes. It depends how many questions the client has. It depends how many drugs the client has."
If you are unable to get a local appointment, you can call the national hotline at 1-800-MEDICARE.
