Jannell Lynn “Jan” Potter |1953-2022|

Jannell Lynn “Jan” Potter, 69, died March 5, 2022, at Reflection Living, Hutchinson.  She was born January 28, 1953, in Hutchinson, to Stacy and Virginia (Lingreen) Morris.

Jan graduated from Hutchinson High School, in 1971.  She worked for many years in customer service at Morton Salt.  Jan retired from Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where she was the insurance navigator for individuals signing up through the Marketplace. She enjoyed playing golf and helping others.  Jan was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, and active in Circle III.  She lived for her church and family, especially her six grandsons.  Despite Jan’s rare health challenges she faced the past few years, Jan remained positive and upbeat, which was admirable to anyone who met her.

On July 17, 1971, she married Jon Potter, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson. 

Jan is survived by:  her husband of over 50 years, Jon of Hutchinson; sons, Bryan Potter (Carrie) of Hiawatha, Cory Potter (Tina), and Darin Potter (Valerie), all of Hutchinson; six grandsons, Alex Potter, Josh Potter, Tannim Potter, Jonas Potter, Beckett Potter, and Drazan Potter; sister, Vicky Lewis (Chuck) of Derby; brother, Stacy Morris, Jr. (Kathleen) of Newton; and brother-in-law, Mike Miller of Wichita.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Kaylene Miller.

Cremation has taken place.  Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th, Hutchinson, with Pastors Quentin Nuttmann and Henry Blickhahn officiating.  Following the service, the family will greet friends and light refreshments will be served until 1:30 p.m. at the church.  Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Fairlawn Burial Park.  Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
