Roger Dwight Erteld, 73, of Buhler, died March 2, 2022, at his home. He was born July 30, 1948, in Des Moines, IA, to Dwight D. and Vera C. (Miller) Erteld.

Roger graduated from Iowa Mennonite School in 1966, attended Calvary Bible College, and graduated from Hesston College in 1968. He owned his own business, Roger Erteld Construction, for 47 years. Roger was a devoted follower of Jesus with an insatiable desire to study God’s Word. He was very active in Young at Heart Ministries.

On June 18, 1968, Roger married Kathleen “Kathy” Yoder, in Parnell, IA.  She survives.

Also surviving are: daughters, Sharon Entz (Leland) of Whitewater, Wendy Bost (Kevin) of Overland Park; and grandchildren, Becca Mellema (Matt), David Entz, and Leah Entz.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private family burial will be held in Buhler cemetery. A celebration of Roger’s life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the church’s website.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at the church.
